About our cause

Guisborough Bridge Association provides a much loved and valued service for the community.

We need your help so we can continue to offer and even expand our service!

Most people of Guisborough are aware that we run the local foodbank (Foodstop) twice a week from Guisborough Methodist Church.  Our team of four part time staff and many volunteers do so much more: our aim is to support the community and prevent social isolation and help people manage their budget this is also what we do:

Monday Coffee Morning  - budget-friendly, from Sunnyfield House - All Welcome.

Thursday Soup & Roll (and much more) - budget-friendly from Guisborough Methodist Church, the proceeds help fund the Foodstop room hire and staffing. All welcome.

Community Luncheon for those above 60+ held every  Wednesday at Kemplah House, and on Fridays from Hinton Court.  Choice of 2 & 3 course meals served by volunteers, cooked on site. 11am- 1pm (booking is needed.)

Bridge2Youth held Fridays from 5-8pm termtime, from Guisbrough Evangelical Church.

Music& Memories held Each 2nd Wednesday of the month. A singing group (dementia fiendly) from Kemplah House & offered for free, but with a well-qualified & skilled peripetic teacher.

Time2Move A chair exercise class held 10.30 -11.30 am at Hinton Court*  ceased temporariy due to needing a new instructor.

Food&Fun For All The Family - a carousel of activities (movemner and craft, followed by a wholesome healthy lunch, and when funding is available a packed tea to go home with). These events are publiscised through local primaries for the holdiday times. Parents, Carers & grandparents attend.

And we are soon to launch a Community Allotment - Bridge2Sow&Grow. We have spent time and money making the plot safe, level and accessible with a sturdy shed and place where our partners can pot up and sit down. Helped by a private donor and a grant from HSBC. We are truly excited about this project.

Christmas: We created over 55 Christmas & Boxing Day Hampers, and gifts for each family member,  to support families, and included a supermarket food voucher for the fter Christmas part. (Largely supported this year by public donations of toys and the Jack Brunton Charitable Trust.)

We value small donations and large; we value people spreading positive word of our projects; we value regular and one off volunteers to projects and if you are interested please check out our website https://guisboroughbridge.org.uk/, follow us on facebook or email us [email protected]

Thank you for your support and good luck!
